SFTP different initial directory

When logging into a secure ftp server using Rebex.Net.Sftp.dll version 1.3.2700.0 I am being placed into a different directory then when I log into the same server using version 2.0.3854.0. Was there a change in how the intial directory is determined between these two versions?
